QThere is a lot of information on this site. Do you really expect me to read it all before making an appointment?
AI believe that an informed client is a happy client!
Taking the time to suss out the facts regarding my work can mean the difference between having a life-changing session and feeling like you've wasted your precious time and money. At the very least, please read the Sessions page, the “Things You Need To Know” section of this page, and my Appointment Etiquette & Cancellation/Late Policy before contacting me. Here it is accessible at your convenience, so you don't have to wait for a time when both of us can talk on the phone at length.
QCan I get an appointment today?
ABesides having other obligations and interests, I need time to adequately prepare myself physically, emotionally, and spiritually for our time together; therefore I am rarely able to schedule same-day appointments for new clients, although you're definitely welcome to inquire.
If you are a new client and you'd like an appointment today, please call me (instead of email) at least 3 hours in advance, and be prepared to give me your verifiable work phone number.
If you are someone who doesn't have as much control over your schedule as you'd like, you can go through the screening process ahead of time, and then give me a call on the day you know you are available—but I won't be able to guarantee you an appointment for that day.
QWhat do you mean by screening?
AUnfortunately, this type of work attracts predators as well as representatives of oppressive agencies that seek to punish what they don't understand.
I need to know that you are not a threat to my physical freedom, health, or safety. To that end, I prefer that you give me the name and contact info of someone who can vouch for you. This “someone” must be a reputable Daka/Dakini, Sacred Intimate, FBSM Provider, ProDomme, or Escort that you have seen in her or his professional capacity. If you are unable or unwilling to provide this, I will accept verifiable work information (email or general phone number).
Without such verifiable information I am unable to see you. I am a fanatic about discretion and will treat any and all information you give me accordingly.
QI don't really feel comfortable giving out that kind of information. Is there any other way to assure you that I am not a threat?
AI can certainly understand and respect your choice not to offer such information. I can only hope that you understand and respect my reasons for the request. The only exceptions to this policy is if you are referred to me by a friend or colleague of mine
(those referrals are discussed before you contact me), you are a visitor to the Bay Area
(with a verifiable reservation in an upscale hotel), or you are a verifiable professional in the adult service industy. No other exceptions will be made.
I cannot give my all to you in session if I have concerns about my safety. Addressing those concerns via screening means you'll have a more effective session. I'm sure you are a very nice person, but not everyone is, and sometimes predators have excellent disguises.
They say that Ted Bundy was a very charming man.
QDo you massage in the nude or topless?
AWhile I have no inhibitions against nudity, I believe it would be a distraction from my work. While my sessions are designed to appeal to all of your senses I've found that for many people (especially men), visual stimulation takes their focus off of their body and their own sensations.
QDo you offer discounts? Do you barter? Are your rates negotiable? Can we just trade massages?
AI offer discounts to women, the mobility-impaired, and those offering proof of active military service or recent veteran's status. Click
here for more information about bartering.
I don't engage in Swedish/Esalen-style massage trades, but I may be open to bartering other forms of bodywork.
QDoes the session duration mean just the time I'm on the table?
AMy sessions are timed from when you enter my temple, until the time that you leave. It is part of my respect for you to honor the time commitment we have made.
Each session includes time for a shower (both at the beginning and end of the session), time to chat, have a cool or hot drink and switch gears from the world outside, and time for our flesh to “converse”—your flesh to get used to the feel of my hands, and my hands to feel and understand your flesh—and recovery time. I do a full body massage, and I do it at a slow pace. Your mind follows the pace of my hands as I trace your contours, and knead your muscles; and is therefore lulled into slowing itself down, and becoming more focused on what's going on in the body. There is also 10-15 minutes of “recovery time” at the end of the session.
For this reason, I strongly suggest 2hrs for our first session.
Omitting parts of the session will lessen the impact of the work and may shorten the overall length of your session. Please note, due to time constraints, 1 hr sessions may not include therapeutic bodywork.
QDo you see couples, women, the mobility-impaired?
AI offer a special invitation to couples—this is excellent work for you to do together to enhance your erotic intimacy. I am available to do sessions as the sole practitioner, or I can invite one of my male colleagues to work with us as the other practitioner.
I offer special encouragement to women—too often we neglect our erotic life. As a woman, I can offer special nourishment, and my work can be a wonderful gift to give yourself. It will have an effect far beyond your sexual life.
I also have some experience working with the mildly to moderately mobility-impaired (and their living assistants). The nature and severity of the impairment determines what kind of work I can do with people who are differently-abled. My temple space is not wheelchair accessible. I don't have a car, so I can't do outcalls outside of Emeryville/Oakland/Berkeley. I'm constantly figuring out how to modify my approach in order to make it accessible for all sorts of people. I offer a discount to women and people with disabilities.
QIs this a mutual session?
ATerms like “mutual” and “interactive” are often used as euphemisms for touching the practitioner in an sexual way. My sessions
are mutual and interactive in that we are both fully present, but touch is generally unidirectional from me to you as most sessions focus on re/connecting
you to the divine (the main exception being the “Circular Contemplation” and “Consecrated Cuddling” sessions).
I am an affectionate woman with people I know, and I enjoy courteous and gentle touch. But please be respectful of my physical boundaries, especially if we've just met. I don’t enjoy saying “no” so please key in to body language. If I’m moving away from your touch, that’s my way of saying “no”. If I’m moving for other reasons, I’ll generally tell you.
The focus of the session is on you, and in order to get the most benefit from our time together, I suggest you simply lay back and enjoy.
QDo you offer God or Goddess Worship sessions?
AIf you are using those terms as euphemisms for sexual activities, the answer is a definite
NO.
While every touch of my hand on you is reverent and worshipful of you as a manifestation of the divine, I do offer a 90 minute Lingam Worship (if you identify as male) or Yoni Worship (if you identify as female) session where the focus is on worshipping you in a more intentionally ritualistic manner, including ritual cleansing and anointment.
Goddess Worship sessions are only available to returning clients. Please see the description on the “Sessions” page.
QCan you show me how to facilitate erotic trance in a woman?
ARegardless of your gender, I can show you how to facilitate erotic trance in a woman. Because I'm simply not capable of coherent verbal instruction while in a trance state, you will either need to bring your partner (I will need to talk with her before confirming your appointment) or I can include one of my colleagues in your session to serve as the model. Please contact me for more information on rates.
Q
What if I can't make my appointment?
A
I'm well aware that “things happen”. If you need to cancel or reschedule our appointment with more than 24 hours notice, email is a fine way to notify me. If you need to cancel our appointment with less than 24 hours notice, please call me. Because making a commitment to you often means that I have to turn away others who want an appointment for that same day, individuals who cancel with less than 24 hours notice will need to place a deposit in order to schedule their next appointment. After 2 cancellations, I will no longer schedule appointments with you.
I have never had to cancel a session, but if I do, I will give you as much advance notice as possible. I will also make it up to you with extra time at your next session.
Things You May Want to Know
QAre you a Tantrika?
AThat is not a title I claim. I do study Tantra in my personal life, and I do sometimes introduce Tantric yin/yang breath, but it's not part of every session. My personal understanding of Tantra is woven throughout my life, and finds its way into my sessions by increasing my ability to stay open, present, and full of loving acceptance during our time together.
The bulk of the specific techniques I will use with you comes from a delightful smorgasbord of modalities, more influenced by Taoist eroticism than Tantra. I like to say it's like Capoiera & Kung Fu; they're both martial arts and therefore have some similarities. But they come from different traditions.
QI'd really like to give you a tip or gift. Which do you prefer & what kinds of things do you like?
AThe best tip or gift you could give me is to schedule another appointment!
Gifts or tips are never expected, although always graciously & sincerely accepted. Discreetly carried & presented red, yellow, or orange Gerber daisies are my favorite flower. Gift certificates to
Piedmont Springs Hot Tubs,
Harbin Hot Springs,
Spirit Rock Meditation Center, or
Wildwood Retreat Center are guaranteed to bring a smile to my face ( Please note that I do not work for or with Harbin, nor are they in any way shape or form involved in my training or services. They "do not wish to be associated with my 'services' in any way", shape or form). I tend to drool when presented with gift certificates to Lush Cosmetics, and I’m a complete and total sucker for donations made in my name to
The Octavia Butler Scholarship Fund,
St. James Infirmary,
or any local literacy program.
QYou use the term “work” a lot. Is this just a job to you?
AThis is a spiritual calling for me, much in the way priests are called. However I have certain life expenses, and I also have unique skills. I believe that it is honorable to receive compensation for offering my skills, and I do not see it as in conflict with the concept of spiritual practice (in traditional religions, priests do get paid by those to whom they minister, they just call it "tithing"). I would be happier if we lived in a society where everyone bartered their skills, but alas my landlord will not take a massage in lieu of my rent.
(If you are a landlord who will take massages in lieu of rent, please contact me! LOL)
In the context of my professional practice, I often use the term “work” in the spiritual or magickal sense (rituals of great significance are referred to as “works”). The container we create together, the energy we create together, and the transformation that you will go through as a result is certainly deserving of such a moniker.
QAre you a Christian?
ANo. My belief system is cobbled together from pieces of various religions, and held together with the glue of my own imagination and experiences. However, I am a member of an African-based spiritual community.
I believe that we were given these bodies and the ability to feel erotic pleasure by a Divine Creatrix. When we open ourselves to full erotic sensation that includes all of who we aremind, body, and spiritit is a joyous celebration of the divine. The so-called “moral” doctrines that would have us believe that our body is profane and that erotic pleasure is “evil”, are to me, the highest form of blasphemya denial of the wisdom of our Creatrix and a dismissal of the gifts She/He/It has given us.
QDidn't you used to go by another name?
AYes I did. I used to do this work under a translation of my everyday use-name. As I got more & more involved in the particular spiritual tradition that I follow, it became clear that that use-name invoked energies that were both inhibiting my spiritual growth and detrimental to my physical and emotional well being. A Priest in this tradition gave me a new name--one divined from spirit and ancestors--tying various aspects of my past, current, and future paths together. Sahana is a translation of a truncated version of my new use-name.
QI'd like to know more about you and your work. Can you tell me more during the massage?
A Part of my work is to help you silence the mind, so that the body and spirit can hear one another better. For that reason, I discourage conversations during the session, as I find that for many people, talking is a way to keep most of their awareness in their mind, thereby avoiding giving awareness to their body and spirit.
There's definitely time for chatting both before and after the massage. During the breath coaching there will definitely be time for explanations and questions, and during the massage I may occasionally ask you questions about your body and/or habits. But once I lay my hands on you, I ask that talking be kept to a minimum. I find it difficult to carry on two conversations simultaneously, and my primary conversation is with your body. While I'm not listening to your body with my ears, I'm afraid that I cannot give appropriate attention to your body and spirit, if our minds are engaged in discussion.
If you are interested in sharing more social time, consider scheduling a “Ambrosial Abandon” or “Consecrated Cuddling” session. Please see the descriptions on the “Sessions” page.
QWhat happens during the recovery time?
A The recovery time is a “hands off” time. While I am not massaging you during that period, I remain energetically focused on you—I do not clean up, ask you questions, fidget, or do anything to distract you from what you are experiencing.
In our culture, we are all too quick to rush off after any sort of experience. Giving ourselves permission to savor deliciousness is something we don't do enough of. In the type of work we'll be doing together, savoring is an important part—this is when what you have learned starts to imprint itself in your body, mind, and spirit. Also, most clients will reach altered states of consciousness during the session. I think it would be unethical of me to allow you to leave my temple in an altered state, therefore the recovery time also allows you to slowly drift back to “reality”.
You'll feel different after the session, but indulging in the recovery time assures you won't be too “spaced out” to function. I am fully aware that you may have obligations after our time together, and we both have a responsibility to ensure that you leave in the standard state of consciousness so that you may fulfill them.
QI really feel like we connected. Would you like to go out on a date?
AI am open to everyone that lays down on my table, so we did in fact have an authentic connection. However, I believe in keeping my professional and personal life separate. I thank you for respecting my choices.
QHave you ever received any of these massages?
AAs part of my training, I received several Taoist Erotic Massages, Rosebud Massages, and Pelvic Release Massages (the basis for my “Standard Erotic Trance” and “Rosebud Rapture” sessions). I also do trades of those massages with some of my colleagues. And every study of an additional healing modality always includes learning by receiving.
